The western Canadian Lottery Corporation has also added single-game wagering to its offerings. This happened after a slight delay compared to several other lottery agencies from Canada.

Since this month lottery retailers from Manitoba, Alberta and the country’s 3 northern territories are all offering the wagering on sporting events which was recently introduced on November 1 this year.

Kevin van Egdom who is a spokesperson for the Crown corporation says that the new wagering product is designed to modernize the experiences players have. He explained that they have been working for a long time already and the product comes at a perfect time.

Until now the single-event-wagering possibilities are still limited because at this moment it’s only legally offered by the lotteries. Other provinces like for example Ontario expect to launch a competitive igaming market regarding private operators at the beginning of 2022.

There are also real-time betting odds available in this new offering. This will be up-to-date whenever someone buys a ticket.

Contract
The Western Canadian Lottery Corporation made public that it will extend the contract for International Game Technology (already a long-term partner). This extended contract is already the 3rd contract for Game Technology in the last 5 years. According to this new contract, there will be over 500+ new video terminals for the lottery in their land-based properties.
